Web Graphics Design
The Internet is the single most important means of communication in the world. It is used by people in every country and access to the Internet is becoming more and more normal, even in the less industrialized countries of the world.
People access information on the Internet for various reasons. Many people are looking for information for their personal use, or as part of research they are doing for a work project or in their schooling. Some people search for information about a product, or use the Internet as a means of purchasing a product. All kinds of business transactions are done over the Internet. It touches every possible industry.
Web sites are places where all this information is contained on pages. There are small, personal sights and sites for the largest companies in the world. Either way, you can find information about the person, or the company and find contact information all on the Internet.
Because nearly every company and many individuals are interested in creating their own web site, there is a high demand for web graphics designers. In web graphics design, a page is created on which the desired information can be contained in order to be published on the Internet where everyone will have access to it..
These pages are not merely a blank page with plain text. People want color and images that will enhance the look of their page and appeal to the visitors to their site. With web graphics design a combination of symbols, colors, pictures and words are organized on the page in an attractive way.
When employing a web graphic designer, a person or company will have viewed some of the designer's previous work and determined that he is the type of designer that is wanted. Some people may choose to share a few ideas about what they want done and leave the main design up to the designer, and others are quite specific on colors and style and prefer to guide the designer through their ideas, in order to have a final product that they feel is the best reflection of them personally or of the company that they represent.
When creating a web site, the designer keeps in mind four things:
content - or what information is contained on the site,
usability - how easily it is to navigate
appearance – the flow and appeal of the look of the graphics
visibility – making the site easy to find on search engines
Web graphics design continues to be a major industry as more companies and individuals create web sites in order to promote or inform the public about a certain subject. Looking into the future, it seems as though this industry is not likely to experience any kind of fall. The more modernized the world becomes, the greater the need for web graphics design is likely to become.
