Using Multimedia Graphic Design
Everyone likes something that looks nice. Although everyone has their own personal taste and sense of style, some things are just appealing to nearly everyone. And some things are just not.
Even someone who doesn't like flowers can appreciate the beauty of an English garden. A pretty floral pattern may no be that person's choice for their bedspread, but they still know that the images are nice. In the same way, a person who loves all things art nouveau can still see the appeal and symmetry of the more angular art-deco style.
It is all a matter of good design. When a pattern or picture is well made, it has appeal to everyone. A good design is timeless. Although it may fit within a specific style category, it will still be beautiful, even when it may not be popular.
This goes for all aspects of design. Graphic design is the art of using elements of color, text, symbols or other images to create a visual representation of message or idea. These elements cannot just be thrown together on a page. It requires a good eye and an artistic sense to make a graphic that will be interesting and appealing to everyone.
Multimedia graphic design is the use of various methods to display a graphic. A multimedia graphic designer creates these images on many different mediums. They can make images to be printed in a magazine, on a poster or on other printed material, or they may create images for web sites. They might also make animated or motion designs that can be used on TV or film, or even on the Internet.
In all of these mediums, the graphic designer needs to understand aesthetics and how different images affect people. He has to understand how color can be used to create a certain mood and feel. He has to know how to incorporate text into an image in a way that is neither too overpowering nor too subtle.
A multimedia graphic designer understands the message that is being sent through his work, and carefully creates a memorable image to promote that message or idea. He knows that what may work on an advertisement in a store may not grab the attention of someone browsing the Internet. He also knows how to balance the design elements in terms of space, sound and time when using motion design.
In graphic design media, many different things come into play. It takes a talented and well experienced designer to understand all aspects of multimedia graphic design. Being able to create good, memorable images in all kinds of media is a talent and skill that is highly prized by companies that use many kinds of media for their advertising.
